Tim Tebow

Tomorrow night’s live games on Sky feature a battle of Rookie Quarterbacks in Carolina and the Detroit Lions taking on Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos. Both games feature some of the best young Quarterbacks in the NFL and expect to see both games go down to the wire. The Vikings-Panthers game will be starting at 5pm on Sky Sports2, with the Lions-Broncos game starting at 8pm on the same channel. I’m going to give a prediction of both games and a brief outlook of which players to watch out for. So here it goes.

1-6 Minnesota Vikings at 2-5 Carolina Panthers

The Vikings travel to Carolina with Rookie Quarterback Christian Ponder making his first road start of his career. With the Donovan McNabb experiment in Minnesota seemingly over, Ponder will be the starting Quarterback for the rest of the season. Ponder had a tough game last week against the Green Bay Packers in which he threw two Touchdowns and two Interceptions in a losing effort. The Vikings are unlikely to make the Playoffs in another disappointing season in Minnesota. Expect to see plenty of Running Back Adrian Peterson in this game as the Vikings will try to take the pressure of the Rookie Ponder.

The Panthers are coming off an impressive 33-20 victory against the Washington Redskins. Rookie Quarterback Cam Newton has had a great start to his first season in the league and is on pace to throw for over 4,000 Yards. Wide Receiver Steve Smith seems to be back to his best as he leads the league in Receiving Yards with 818 Yards through seven games. I see the Panthers getting the win in this one. Vikings21 Panthers24

Players to watch out for: Vikings- Quarterback Christian Ponder, Running Back Adrian Peterson, Defensive End Jared Allen

Players to watch out for: Panthers- Quarterback Cam Newton, Wide Receiver Steve Smith, Defensive End Charles Johnson

5-2 Detroit Lions at 2-4Denver Broncos

The Lions travel to Denver after losing to the 49ers and Falcons and with their undefeated record over, they will look to get back to winning ways in this one. Quarterback Matthew Stafford is expected to play despite picking up an injury against the Falcons. The Lions Defense will go into this game focused on getting to Broncos Quarterback Tim Tebow. Tebow has been known to take too many Sacks so expect to see the Lions blitz him often in this game. I see Defensive Tackle Ndamukong Suh having a big game in this one with at least two sacks.

The Broncos are coming off a dramatic Overtime victory over the Miami Dolphins last week. Tim Tebow was key to the Broncos victory, throwing two Touchdown passes in the fourth quarter and converting a crucial two-point conversion. Tebow will have to continue to play like this if the Broncos are to win this one. Tebow’s performance in last week’s game earned him a special mention in a new episode of South Park so hopefully this will be a good omen in this game for the Broncos. I see the Broncos winning this one. Lions24 Broncos27 (Overtime)

Players to watch out for: Lions- Quarterback Matthew Stafford, Wide Receiver Calvin Johnson, Defensive Tackle Ndamukong Suh

Players to watch out for: Broncos- Quarterback Tim Tebow, Running Back Willis McGahee, Linebacker Von Miller

So that’s the prediction, hope everyone enjoys the games on Sky.

  2. Is it fair to say that the game of American football is based on three main players? The QB, RB and WR. Maybe its just my ignorance but I couldn’t play a game where I will never get my hands on the ball.
